Committee Member profile

CIPSA would like to thank the committee members for their contribution over the last 8 months. In recognition of their services we have decided to profile a committee member in each monthly newsletter. Enjoy getting to know your committee further.

Keith Barber

KeithBarberphotoKeith currently occupies the position of Procurement Coordinator for the City of Salisbury, one of South Australia’s largest and fastest developing metropolitan Councils.

In brief Keith's role includes;

  • Provision of strategic direction and focus for procurement within Council, including a focus on managing risk. Procurement includes works and services contracts and tendering as well as the purchase of goods and services,
  • Develop and enhance new procurement methods and functionality as appropriate,
  • Continually monitor the internal procurement processes and the external environment to ensure that Council obtains value for money (quality, service and price).

Keith holds the position of Secretary/Treasurer, this predominantly involves the accurate recording of minutes of the monthly regional committee meetings and supporting committee members as required in the organisation of events. As with all committee members Keith is also available to support SA/NT CIPSA members as necessary.

As one of only two local government CIPSA members in South Australia it is Keith's own personal goal to increase local government CIPSA membership and in turn build the local government procurement network.
